Glue Loctite 243 is an anaerobic glue reinforced with a blue threadlocker that offers optimal resistance to vibrations, shocks and temperature variations. Designed to secure and seal threaded assemblies, this versatile glue is compatible with a wide variety of materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics and composites.

It is also formulated to resist oils, fluids and chemicals commonly used in industrial and mechanical applications. Loctite 243 Glue is easy to apply thanks to its precise applicator and dries quickly, generally in less than 20 minutes.

Applications and uses of Loctite 243 Glue

Loctite 243 Glue is ideal for a multitude of applications, whether in industry, automotive, construction or even household work. Common uses include joining threaded parts, securing gears, bearings and bolts, sealing hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, and repairing damaged parts.

In addition, Loctite 243 Adhesive can be used to prevent unintentional loosening of fasteners, thus guaranteeing the safety and reliability of assemblies in demanding environments subject to high mechanical stress.

Tips for optimal use of Loctite 243 Glue

To obtain the best results with Loctite 243 Glue, it is important to follow some instructions for use. Before application, ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free of grease or dirt. Apply a thin layer of glue to the threads or surfaces to be joined, avoiding excesses which could compromise the strength of the joint.

Once the glue is applied, clamp the pieces together and let dry for at least 20 minutes to allow the glue to harden and form a strong joint. The maximum strength of Loctite 243 glue is generally reached after 24 hours of drying. To disassemble the glued parts, it is sufficient to apply localized heat and to unscrew the fasteners using suitable tools.

1. Preparation and cleaning: it is advisable to use LOCTITE® SF 7063/7064 to remove grease and clean surfaces before applying the adhesive.
2. Preparation and activation: If curing time is too long due to passive metals (stainless steel, aluminum and plated metals) or low temperature (below 5°C), apply LOCTITE® Activator SF 7240 or LOCTITE ® SF 7649 (see cure time graph for each activator in the data sheet).
3. Application: Apply threadlocker to the engagement area. For manual dispensing, it is recommended to use a peristaltic gun to ensure even volume application.
4. Application (Through Hole): Insert the screw and apply thread locker to the exposed thread. Fit the nut and tighten it to the correct/specified torque.
5. Application (blind hole): apply the product in the lower third of the blind hole.
6. Assembly: assemble and tighten the elements. If more than one bolt is fitted, tighten them to the correct value with the appropriate device.
7. Disassembly: hand tools Disassemble the parts using standard hand tools.
